One Master one disciple - peeling of an onion

- by Jyoti Subramanian

A fun loving and cherished child, Jyoti grew up absorbing deliberations on the Bhagavad Gita, intoning Sanskrit mantras to perfection, performing yoga asanas and traditional pujas with ease, guided by her parents lovingly into a sattvic way of life.

Growing up to be a restless young woman seeking nothing yet experimenting with everything, her curiosity took her to Crystal Healing to Reiki to Magnified Healing to Sweat Lodge and dancing around the fire in Shamanic rites. Little did she know that during a recorded guided meditation at a seminar she will see a vision of the satguru/master Yogiraj Siddhanath who will propel her on a fast-track evolutionary path of Mahavatar Babaji’s Kriya Yoga.

In the book she takes you with ease and humour along this very personal journey unabashed and often brutally honest without guile, giving you glimpses of past lives across several civilisations, paranormal experiences in the present and manifold realms of existence, throughout which one link remains intact and steadfast - the link that binds the true disciple to their true guru.

Today, as a senior disciple of Yogiraj Siddhanath she travels in India and worldwide sharing her learning with others, living and helping others to live joyously with grace, meeting all adversity with equanimity. The book is a reminder of the integrity disciples must have towards their master and how that helps their inner awakening. Includes Gurunath’s easy to practice 9 ancient yogic techniques.

Jyoti Subramanian

Jyoti was introduced to Yog Sadhana at age 8 by her father in Calcutta, she practiced the tenets of yam, niyam, asan and pranayam throughout her adolescence and married years. She was initiated into the evolutionary Mahavatar Babaji's Kundalini Kriya Yoga by her Guru Yogiraj Siddhanath in 1998 and empowered to share this with others since 1999.

Holding a bachelors degree in Philosophy and a post graduate diploma in Journalism, she writes humorously about serious spiritual topics in her inimitable style.

Profoundly Human
As a fan of biographies on yogis and literature on mysticism in general, I found this book profoundly relatable in comparison to other reads. Jyoti has a way of bringing her faults and shortcomings on the spiritual path (and life in general) to the surface to create teachable moments. Doing this, she has made it plain that she is not trying to make herself out to be something special, on the contrary, her insight gives you hope that no matter the difficulties that come your way you can overcome them with steadfast concentration and devotion.

Not to mention there are many esoteric gems hidden in the lines for any serious seeker. An overall powerful and inspirational piece, would highly recommend any one to read it.

A MUST READ for those on any spiritual path
This book is one of a kind, with vivid and heartwarming stories of a disciple on her path. Jyoti takes you through her spiritual journey and experiences and you can’t help but be transformed in her world as she shares her interactions and lessons with the Himalayan Master Yogiraj SatGurunath Siddhanath. If you enjoyed reading The Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda then you’d enjoy reading this book.

Quality Writing
A very well written work that does not get dry as you keep reading on.
There are startling stories of synchronous events described in the book and the author cushions them for the uninitiated western rational

I read the book in a full day. Good quality writing. Will recommend!

Yog Uninterrupted

- by Jyoti Subramanian

The Print Replica Kindle is only compatible with Free Kindle reading Apps for iOS and Android and Kindle Fire tablets HD 8.9" and 1st Gen. The reading pleasure however is much more as it maintains the immersive structure of the hardcover book.

Yog Uninterrupted is a delightful compilation of deep reflections on the YogSutras of Patanjali as realised by the author Jyoti Subramanian and their application in daily life. With her unique personal style of writing and inimitable sense of humour, she delves fearlessly into the concepts related to yog sadhana. Written with brilliant insight, the topics include why one practices yoga; the need for a physically present satguru; what is the role of the ego; the role of morality in one's life and whether you are a Hindu if you practice yoga. It is filled with many such vignettes that reveal the author's journey and her active introspection on the true nature of the self.

Her earlier book One Master one disciple- peeling of an onion was about discipleship; this book is about the grace accrued from that sacred divine commitment to the Satguru. Jyoti was introduced to the concept of yog- yam, niyam, asan and pranayam by her father at age 8 and practiced it throughout her adolescent and married years. She was introduced to the higher stages of yog sadhana- pratyahar, dharana and dhyan by her SatGuru Yogiraj Siddhanath in 1998. In the true lineage of the guru-shishya parampara she spent over 24 years under his tutelage and grace. In 1999 she was empowered by her Satguru to share the practices of the Siddhanath Yoga Parampara which includes, Mahavatar Babaji's Kundalini Kriya Yoga, Hamsa Yoga and the Siddhanath Surya Yoga.

Today Jyoti, immersed in her own sadhana, is creating an online repertoire of yog practices to share with others all that has been of immense benefit to her.

I will start with the cover of the book, when I saw it was like shiva Netra…as if we are about to get a taste of what the book is going to be like and yes it’s a pure sharing of the experiences of the higher self and I have no words to express my gratitude to the Author who out of love for us… poured her essence of realizations encouraging that it is possible for each and every one of us to self realize being a householder leading a normal mundane life!! 🙏🌸🌺🌼🪻🪻🌼🌺🌸

I might end up writing a book rather a review which still is inadequate!!!

My humble request🙏please read it🙏

Deep Reflections from Lived Experiences

I finally read the much-awaited second book from the author, Jyoti Subramanian (check out the first one : One Master, One Disciple). The book is a compilation of her own deep reflections from her journey as a saadhak, disciple, teacher and most importantly, someone in constant pursuit of the realisation of the divine within who is eager to share her learnings with all generously.

The format of the book is aesthetically pleasing with minimal artwork, which helps the reader to focus well. She has written each section and chapter with the conscious thought of putting her learnings with fresh perspective at public disposal, while eschewing any challenge to pre-established discourse on the subjects. The reader is encouraged to chew on what they just read and take their time to absorb it while going on about their daily lives. The book is interspersed with her characteristic humour which reminds one to be joyous and not make Yog a burdensome chore.

For me, the biggest takeaway from the book is the optimism of accessibility: that the path of Yog is available to all irrespective of our backgrounds, gender, caste, class, abilities etc. The author opens up a world of inclusion where she interprets erstwhile complex disciplines into easy, understandable, doable, fresh texts that leave the reader with a bubbling joy, relief and confidence.

The book is a must-read for everyone, and not a one-time read at that !! I guess it's one of those books that I'd like on my bedside table or travel bag, to remind myself of the wonders of undiscovered universe within my own self from someone who has walked that path before me , and continues to share everything, uninterrupted.. !
